Signs Of Unprofessionalism

  • A guestbook. If your blog or webpage has a guestbook, you are an idiot.
  • Graphical hit counter. The bad kind.
  • Silver font
  • A .cjb.net domain name.
  • A website made in Frontpage
  • use of Tables for the layout. And no CSS. It’s just grosse and messy. quote Dave.

Where Do I Put My Thingies?

Simple answer, on my new storage/homepage. Although this is still the site I’ll be using primarily, Asim has given me a subdomain and some hosting dev.sourcenode.net. This is where I will be putting all of my sample layouts and examples, much thanks! Of course with this there is also a new (more professional, less hotmail) email redirection, lol@dev.sourcenode.net.

Must-haves: Firefox Extensions

Note that these are in no particular order and are not specifically for website designers, but more leadless browsers.

  1. Del.icio.us allows you to tag websites and view your bookmarks quickly, as well as many other neat Del.icio.us features. I use this extension. Link
  2. Web Developer Toolbar is one of my favourites. It allows many (and I mean many) functions and tools for aiding web developers, my favourite being Outline. :P Link
  3. Fangs is an accessibility tool that can parse websites as it would be on a screen reader. Link
  4. Screen grab! lets you take complete pictures of websites instead of only one frame. I use this extension. Link
  5. Gmail Notifier is rather self-descriptive. Link
  6. Firebug is virtually a built in DOM inspector and validator. I use this extension. Link

Now, you can see there aren’t many. This isn’t me being lazy, it’s that those 6 (and I only use 3 of them) are the only real plugins I see as a must-have. Any suggestions?
